The Pars Supporters Trust has always placed an emphasis on supporting the youth and community activities of the Club. We believe Dunfermline Athletic should be at the heart of the community, which will have long term benefits to both our fan base and talent pool.
The Pars have a highly successful community programme, offering inclusive football training to children throughout West Fife, coaching 4-600 youngsters per week. They also deliver coaching initiatives such as twilight leagues and “Kickstart” programmes for school leavers.
The Supporters Trust have financially supported the Community Programme, gifting a van to provide transport for coaches, and replacing it when it became 3 years old. We have also funded coaches kit, training equipment and players bibs for the programme.
Recently the management of both the community programme and the Pitreavie training facilities was transferred to a charity by the football club, and the Trust has two board seats. We are therefore involved in both the day to day management and the strategic direction of the training facilities (used by both the first team and youth squads) and the community team.
Looking to the future, we recognise the need to support the club’s scouting efforts, in the hope that we can seek out and attract the best young talent to Dunfermline
